Garmin Adds GFC™ 500 and GFC 600 Aircraft Approvals

Garmin is pleased to announce that it has received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) supplemental type certification (STC) for the GFC 500 autopilot in select Cessna 206 models and certification for the GFC 600 autopilot in the Cessna 425 model aircraft.

GFC 500 Now Approved for Select Cessna 206 Models (1974 and On)

This amendment approves the installation of the GFC 500 in the following 206 models: U206F (S/N U20602200 and later), TU206F (S/N U20602200 and later), U206G, TU206G, 206H, and T206H. Intended for qualifying piston aircraft weighing less than 6,000 lbs., the GFC 500 delivers superior in-flight characteristics, self-monitoring capabilities, and minimal maintenance needs when compared to older-generation autopilot systems.

Garmin Adds GFC™ 600 Aircraft Approvals

Garmin is pleased to announce that FAA STC approval has expanded for the GFC 600 autopilot series. Approval now includes Cessna 425 model aircraft.

Intended for high-performance piston and turbine aircraft that have a wide range of aircraft speed and performance characteristics, GFC 600 incorporates solid-state attitude and robust self-monitoring capabilities to provide superior autopilot performance, greater reliability and safety benefits.
