For a limited time only, Garmin is offering a trade-in program for original G500 and G600 displays, allowing customers to upgrade to the new 10.6" G500 TXi or 10.6" G600 TXi flight displays while utilizing the existing system sensors.

Which type of display is currently installed?

To be eligible for Garmin's TXi upgrade promotion, the currently installed GDU 620 displays must be warranty registered, and must be functional and flightworthy. This trade-in offer is only valid when purchasing a 10.6" TXi flight display (the 7" display is not included in the promotion).

The versatile 7" display can be used in a variety of configurations to fit your panel space and avionics budget. It can serve as part of a multi display system or as a dedicated stand-alone PFD, MFD or EIS display. The large 10.6" TXi series touchscreen can accommodate PFD and MFD capabilities as well as optional engine instrumentation, all in 1 split-screen format positioned directly in the pilot's primary field of view. The display area is more than 20% larger than earlier-generation G500/G600 series displays designed with side-by-side 6.5" screens.

Aircraft owners who install G500 TXi dual 7" portrait displays with dual ADAHRS and an optional backup battery can forego the requirement for standby flight instruments in their light aircraft panels (Class 1 and 2 aircraft under 6,000 lbs max takeoff weight). Pairing two 7" portrait displays also gives you 30% more pixels than the original G500/G600 combo screens, offering increased clarity.

Meeting the higher software assurance levels required for Class 3 piston or turbine aircraft (typically those weighing between 6,000 lbs and 12,500 lbs), G600 TXi offers the broadest range of approved models in our flight display lineup. It can be installed on everything from basic piston singles to cabin-class turboprops.

Note that while Synthetic Vision is an option for the G500 TXi, it comes standard on the G600 TXi.

Why do we ask? In conjunction with the display trade-in program, Garmin will exchange original G500/600 feature enablement SD cards for corresponding G500 TXi/G600 TXi feature enablement SD cards at no additional cost. The original G500/600 feature enablement cards must be returned at the same time as the GDU 620 to be eligible for the exchange, and the relevant TXi enablement SD card order must be included with the display upgrade.
