Aviation's Panel Mount Avionics Installation Leader

The S-TEC 2100 Digital Flight Control System (DFCS) is the perfect complement to the Alliant Integrated Flight Deck. Together these advanced components provide pilots of the most popular turboprop airplanes with a host of capabilities, features and functions that were never before available.

Aircraft Management

There is more to the S-TEC 2100 DFCS than just a long list of features and benefits. It combines the best of them all to provide you with “fully managed flight” a capability that was previously reserved for new generation aircraft. At the touch of a button, the S-TEC 2100 DFCS will operate directly with the Avidyne PFD and your navigation system to deliver a fully integrated flight control system, which meansfrom “wheels in the well to runway in sight” the autopilot will handle the entire flight profile for you. Think of it as the perfect copilot.

Safety

The 2100’s managed flight capability not only reduces your overall workload, it also gives you added confidence and security. With its state-of-the-art digital design, the S-TEC 2100 DFCS won’t let you down when you need it the most like during an approach to minimums. When was the last time you felt confident doing that with your current autopilot?

Reliability

As part of your Alliant installation, all of your aircraft’s legacy gyros and mechanical autopilot components are replaced with the most advanced servos and sensors found in general aviation. Plus the entire system is covered by a two-year warranty. Imagine what you’ll save in autopilot maintenance costs and related downtime. That is probably worth the upgrade all by itself. Another benefit of the S-TEC 2100 is its unprecedented ease of use. From takeoff to touchdown, the S-TEC DFCS combined with Avidyne’s Integrated Flight Deck deliver the ultimate flight management system for owners and operators of the most popular turboprop airplanes.

Indicated Air Speed (IAS) Hold

The Indicated Airspeed Hold function allows you to direct the autopilot to hold the desired IAS by simply pressing the IAS button on the 2100 control panel. This function makes it easy to maintain specific airspeed management during climbs and descents.

Control Wheel Steering (CWS)

By pressing and holding the yoke-mounted CWS switch the pilot can temporarily disengage the autopilot servos, allowing the pilot to easily maneuver the aircraft as desired.  When the CWS switch is pressed and held, “CWS” will flash on the S-TEC 2100 DFCS display. When the switch is released, the servos will automatically re-engage and the autopilot will smoothly recapture the mode in operation prior to the pilot pressing the CWS switch.

Global Positioning System Steering (GPS Steering) Mode

GPSS integrates the S-TEC 2100 DFCS with the aircraft’s GPS NAV receiver to accept roll steering commands and provide extremely accurate "hands off" GPS navigation. Additionally, by taking commands directly from the GPS, the GPSS function permits the autopilot to not only precisely fly en route GPS courses, it also does an excellent job of precision flying GPS approaches, missed approaches and any other phases of flight where the S-TEC 2100 DFCS autopilot is engaged.

The S-TEC 2100 DFCS also offers all the other capabilities pilots expect in a top-tier digital flight control system including:
