Built on the same design platform as the ESI-1000, the ESI-2000 incorporates an internal battery to meet the requirements for independent, dedicated back-up power for aircraft without dual electrical systems. The new Lithium Ion battery technology was selected for its high energy density, charging capabilities and light weight. The battery is integrated into the ESI-2000 hardware with a triple redundant safety design. The ESI-2000 is the first all-electronic self-contained standby instrument system for general aviation with built-in battery back-up.
